Annie Jr The Musical: Pre-Audition Workshop

In support of requests from students who want to better prepare for their audition on October 28, we are offering an Annie-specific audition workshop on October 8, 2024.

Please read the details carefully before you decide whether or not to register your child for the workshop. There is a nominal fee that is intended to cover the cost of the instructors who will be leading the workshop.

Please note that in order to maintain a level playing field, the audition workshop will be led by two instructors who WILL NOT have any input on the casting process for the show. Nor will the workshop instructors give Mary Scarlata-Rowe any feedback from the workshop.

The actual Annie audition on October 28 will involve the following (which will be touched on during the 3 hour workshop):

• Sing a Broadway Song (preferably not from the show) that fits your personality. Short songs are best, so if your song is over 3 minutes you may want to cut it down. If your song is too long the director may cut you off once they have heard what they need to hear.
• Improv exercises as Characters from Annie. No monologue is required, but if you have one prepared you may tell the director and they may hear it.
• Short Dance combo
• Cold reading from the script (if time)
