Hopkinton Center for the Arts (HCA) offers a wide array of virtual and in-person classes and workshops in the visual arts, music, dance, theater, and ceramics. Programs are provided year-round for students of all ages, from pre-K to adult. Our talented artist-instructors provide a welcoming environment for students at all levels, from beginners to advanced. We will work with you to discover the best class for your needs. At the HCA we believe the arts are for everybody. If you are in need of financial assistance, please fill out our online scholarship form.
On this page you will a chronological list of current classes. Use the filters to aid in your search. If a class has started and you wish to join mid-session, please contact the HCA via email at info@hopartscenter.org.
Refund policy: If you notify the HCA via email to info@hopartscenter.org two weeks prior to the start of a class, you will be offered a full refund or credit to use towards a future class. Cancellations that occur with less than two weeks notice are not refundable.

27Jun01JulArt Adventures for Kids I | Down On The Farm Grades: Pre - k -1st Days: Monday - Friday Class Time: 08:30 AM- 12:15 PM Program Type: Summer Programs + More Info ***THIS CLASS IS FULL*** This week-long morning program is full of colorful summer fun! Kids will create art projects each day with a different theme each week. Through projects that include body motion, story-time, and music, campers will create unique pieces of art that connect to science, history, and math. They will work with clay, paint and other fun materials. They will also engage imaginative play and games. WEEK 1 THEME: Down on the Farm! Students should bring a snack, lunch, water bottle and dress in comfortable clothes that they don't mind getting dirty! Appropriate for ages 4 to 6. The drop-off window is between 8:30 - 9 am with supervised morning warm-up games & activities. The program runs from 9 am - 11:30 am, and then lunch and games from 11:30 - 12:15 pm. Pick up is between 12:15 - 12:30 pm. Parents seeking a longer day of programming for their child are encouraged to sign them up for the afternoon program titled "Musical Theater Fun for Kids". 27Jun01JulDance Adventure Ages 5-6: Cinderella and the Prince Grades: k -1st Days: Monday-Friday Class Time: 09:00 AM- 12:00 PM Program Type: Summer Programs + More Info This half day program is perfect for kids who love dance and music! Each day is designed to encourage creativity through the exploration of a theme using dance (ballet and jazz focus), crafts, props, and music. The theme for each week long program is based upon one of the classic story ballets, such as Coppelia,The Nutcracker, Sleeping Beauty, or Cinderella. The daily schedule consists of a ballet class, music, jazz foundation, snack, story and acting, an activity related to the story, and a movement game or improvisation activities. 27Jun01JulMusical Theater Fun for Kids I (4-6 y/o) Grades: Pre - k -1st Days: Monday - Friday Class Time: 11:30 AM- 03:00 PM Program Type: Summer Programs + More Info ***THIS CLASS IS FULL*** This afternoon program is perfect for budding performers who love to act out stories and sing songs! Each week's Musical Theater for Kids will feature a different children's story or movie that the kids will act out for family and friends at the end of the week. Each story will involve 2 songs (or more) with simple choreography. Plenty of time is built in for games and crafts. WEEK 1 THEME: Moana Students should bring lunch, snack and water bottle with them each day. Drop-off for this afternoon program is 11:30 am. Lunch will be held until 12:15 pm. The program will run from 12:15 pm - 2:45 pm. Pick-up is 3 pm. Parents seeking a longer day of programming are encouraged to sign their child up for the morning Art Adventures program. 27Jun01JulDance Workshop: Week 1 Grades: 4th-7th Days: Monday-Friday Class Time: 12:30 PM- 04:30 PM Program Type: Summer Programs + More Info ***THIS CLASS IS CLOSED*** Please contact Jessica Wilson, Director or Dance at jessica@hopartscenter.org Students will spend their afternoons immersed in dance while they improve their technique, explore artistry and expression, learn repertory, and experiment with student choreography. Daily classes include ballet and pointe/pre pointe as well as supplementary classes including jazz, contemporary, acting and pantomime, historical dance, hip hop, choreography and more. Students initial focus will be on basic wheel-throwing skills such as wedging clay, centering, forming vessels, and glazing. Later in the session students will be introduced to hand-building techniques and can then choose to work on individual wheel-thrown or hand-built projects. Intermediate students will focus on making more complex forms, glazing techniques and other surface decoration. Class discussions and critiques of completed works will allow students to better explore their individual styles. Participants will learn about how to read music notation (both rhythms and pitch) and how to apply basic music theory in a choral rehearsal. Under the direction of Eric Miller, HCA Director of Music, the Treblemakers Bootcamp will take place on Wednesday evenings from 7:30–9:00 p.m. in person at the Hopkinton Center for the Arts. This Bootcamp is great for any chorus singer looking to up their choral music game! Singers of all levels are invited to join this adult choral ensemble. Residents (18+) of Hopkinton and surrounding MetroWest towns are welcome. No audition is necessary—all you need is a love of singing! Make sure to register for the Fall 2022 session, which includes participation in the annual Winter concert in December 2022. Treblemaker Fall 2022 sesson begins rehearsals mid-September.
